ENABLE Scotland, National Autistic Society Scotland and Scottish Autism have come together as part of a wider coalition of support across the third sector including professionals, autistic people and people with a learning disability and their families to campaign for positive change in the lead up to the Scottish Parliamentary Election in May 2021.
ENABLE Scotland’s vision is for an equal society for every person who has a learning disability. The charity was founded in 1954 by five sets of parents of children who had a learning disability, and who were determined that their children should have the same rights as everyone else. This is what we still believe and campaign for today.
As the leading member-led campaigning charity in Scotland, ENABLE Scotland members are the voice of the organisation. We listen to them and act on the issues they think are most important.

National Autistic Society Scotland is a leading charity for autistic people in Scotland and their families. We provide a range of services and support for Scotland’s 56,000 autistic people and their families and campaign at national and local level to help create a society that works for autistic people.

We are the largest provider of autism-specific services in Scotland, providing a wide range of innovative support for children and adults, including a day and residential school for autistic pupils.
